About Kalkan
Kalkan is an old fishing town on theTurkish Mediterranian coast, and an important tourist destination. The area includes many historical sites such as Tlos,Kekova(sunken city),Xantos,Patara and many fine beaches, including Patara and Kaputas Beach. lt is famous for its white-washed houses, descending to the sea, and its brightly coloured begounville trees. It averages 300 days of sunshine a year.
There are vell over 100 restaurants and patisseries in Kalkan and district offering a wide range of excellent gastronomic delights, ranging from traditional and authentic Turkish cuisine, sophisticated dining. Many of these restaurants have rooftop settings giving panoramic night time views over Kalkan and the Harbour and offer live music nights on somedays during the week. A good selection of cafés and bars compliment the scene for epicures and night owls.
